The 19,000 square foot, three story mansion was built in 1824 in Langley Park, Maryland as a private residence.  It was designed by notable architect George Oakley Totten in the Georgian Revival style. Now vacant and in considerable disrepair, it is being acquired by CASA de Maryland for use as an administration and social service center.  The design will accomplish the duel goals of historic restoration and energy conservation as a Historic Tax Credit project and a LEED certified green building.  An underground multipurpose room with a green roof will be added in the rear.
